How can I make a small room look big?
My bedroom is pretty small. I've tried SO many things to make it look bigger, but it always ends up the same.
My walls are painted with kind of a deep pink color.
I have a big mirror on the wall. Twin bed. Somewhat large TV (Standing on the dresser)
My dresser is literally IN the closet, with more clothes hanging on top.
I have very little furniture. I have a small table next to my bed that has all my junk on it. And a tall lamp in the corner.
Suggestions?
Declutter - take every single thing out of your room - I agree with changing the wall colour - deep pink sounds a bit heavy for a small room. I like the mirror - light reflects and adds light and space. Now that everything is out, start picking out things you truly do not need in your room. Clothing you haven't worn in the past 1/2 year - find a new owner for them. If you have valuables you cannot part with but they aren't being used, box them and store at the top of your closet or under your bed. Window coverings - try to go as plain as you can. Buy white muslin and hand stitch some soft drapes to match the size of the window. If you have a ceiling light, do you need a corner lamp? Without seeing diagrams, etc., I can't think of more at present. Have fun!
