My Place: Island house is filled with custom designed storage options
Herman Doezema had to build a bridge before he could construct a home on a 2.5-acre island on Gull Creek Outlet. That was in 2005. When he and his wife, Frances, saw the property was for sale, with its additional two acres of wetlands and adjoining lake frontage, Herm slogged his way onto the island.

Closet Monsters (Paperback) $26.05 Quick-there`s a monster in your closet! No? Then, MAKE one!Every closet hides a multitude of out-of-style sweaters, pearl-trimmed jackets, ill-fitting jeans…and worse. And all the repurposing in the world won`t make them wearable again. Fortunately, the inimitable John Murphy of Stupid Sock Creature fame has devised a “green” solution: take those ugly pink sport coats and muumuus and turn them into goofy goonies, multi-legged monsters, other awesomely adorable creatures. They`re all charmingly illustrated with cartoonish élan by the author himself. |

There's a Nightmare in My Closet $25.53 The young boy in this picture book knows that there is a big, scary nightmare living in his bedroom closet. Each night, before he goes to bed, the boy makes sure that the closet door is shut tight, because if he left it open, the nightmare will emerge to torment him as soon as he turns off the lights. However, one night the boy decides he's tired of cowering under his sheets, and so he sets out to rid his closet of the nightmare once and for all. What will happen when the boy leaves the closet door open--and finally confronts the nightmare face-to-face? This empowering look at confronting and defeating a fear is illustrated with gently colored pen-and-ink drawings. |
