Library Wall Bed

Need your idea's to get 6 yr old son to sleep in his own room.?

I've already bought The Spiderman Theme bedroom wall decorations including the bed set. His train set is in his room along with his own personal "library". He's been sharing a room these 6 years and now has his very own room but I can't get him out of his little sisters room. He says he doesn't want to sleep alone. He is not into stuffed animals, more like army guys, so giving him something cute and cuddly has no effect on him. He doesn't cuddle with his sis he just likes the company. Has anyone ran into this? If so, what worked for you?

There are a few options I can think of: a tv in his room with a calming story or cartoon movie, you can set the tv alarm to turn the tv off, get a cd player and a calming story on cd, if it is just music his mind might not stay busy enough to distract him, something he has to pay attention to, wants to pay attention to and is very calming. It is wonderful he is wanting the company of his sister, maybe you could let him sleep in her room for a while longer. He will reach an age that he is going to want his own room. Maybe you could talk to him and let him know you need his help, - make him feel important and the big brother (grown up!) - that his little sister wants to do the same things he does and you are trying to teach her to sleep in her room alone and you need him to help show her how to do it. And finally what we did: bought the kids walkie-talkies and childrens flashlights to keep them busy. It worked like a charm. The only thing is, when they got used to sleeping apart they would set traps for each other and get up in the night to pester the other one. It didn't bother us, it was a bit entertaining, so we let them go for a little while before we would tell them to get to bed. They usually did that a couple times a night. They remember it to this day and laugh about alot of the things they did. Pray for strength and be consistant.
