Dealing with a dog with anxiety?
our dog has been pacing up and down the hallways of our house all night long. it usually starts at about midnight if not a little earlier and goes until about 6 a.m. we are having our house remodeled and that has been going on for about a month and a half and he has been doing this for about 3 weeks. he paces up and down, starts hyperventilating almost (breathing really heavy), jumps up in the bed and walks around it and jumps down again and hides under desks, and tries to hide in an area where we have a bunch of bags with christmas gifts in. he also just stands and stares at nothing like the wall or couch.........seeming to be scared of something. we have tried to give him a Benadryl to help him calm down at the veterinarians advice but that doesn't seem to work. anyone have any ideas?
I had two very anxious cats and I bought a cd for them that I played during the night or while I was away at work. It really chilled out my cat's anxiety at night. I bought my cd at bed bath and beyond and I know that they have one for dogs too! Also, the sound of running water can help too! Check this stuff out, and good luck!
